The electric motor was personally tested extensively by shop operator Johannes Vogelhuber on his own sailing yacht (more under the menu item Inspection/Testing). The name results from the (economically) very low power consumption and the enormous drive power, which is hardly to be found in this constellation on the market. EcoPower models are only available as (electric) outboards (also called calm sliders by sailors) and for 12V (80lbs), 24V (120 and 140lbs) and also 48V (160lbs).
In the boat electric motor test of Yachtrevue magazine (issue 08/2022), 2 Ecopower models were at the start and both became test winners.

» Brushless Motor

The brushless motor works quietly, very energy-efficiently – and extremely powerfully. Ideal for situations where it is difficult to additional thrust e.g. in the event of gusts of wind, strong headwind, rapid counter-manoeuvres. EcoPower lull sliders are great for mid-sized sailing yachts between 22 and 28 feet in length due to their power – where other electric outboards are either too weak, or significantly too big and expensive! EcoPower boat motors have heat protection from 110 °C and protective shutdown if the battery capacity is too low below 19.2V – in both cases the power is automatically reduced to 50% – ensure operation for the return journey. The engines consistently score with more propulsive power than comparable models from other manufacturers – which is why the EcoPower boat engines are the clear recommendation of shop operator Johannes Vogelhuber, who uses this himself on his Falcon 24 (KS), built in 1983, displacement: 1,100 kg.
