Aquamot's electric shaft drive is particularly environmentally friendly, as it produces no emissions and works quietly. It is also very low-maintenance and easy to use. By using the system, skippers and sailors can convert their ships and yachts from combustion engines to electric propulsion without removing the entire propulsion system, which would be more than three times the effort.

There are different models and configurations of the Aquamot system, depending on the requirements and the size of the boat. It is basically possible to convert a sailing yacht from a petrol engine to an electric motor. Such a conversion is necessary if you want to sail your sailing yacht in inland waters, for example, as petrol engines are usually not allowed in Europe.

However, it should be noted that a conversion to an electric motor can be associated with some challenges. For example, an important question is the performance of the electric motor, as it must have sufficient power to move the sailboat in all situations. Battery capacity and range are also important factors to consider when converting.

Converting to an electric motor usually also requires changes to the boat's electrical wiring.
